råbowls is not closed – why we left gänsemarkt, and what comes next
Over the past few weeks, I’ve received a lot of messages. "Did råbowls close?" "Are you still open somewhere else?" "What's going on with the Gänsemarkt store?"
So here it is – the honest answer.
råbowls is still alive. We’re still here. Just in a different place, with a different kind of clarity.
What happened to Gänsemarkt?
For over three years, råbowls Gänsemarkt was full of life. A place where thousands of people stopped by between meetings, workouts, or long days in the city. We grew, we struggled, we built a community. The store was doing well. Business wasn’t the problem.
But behind the scenes, things became more complicated. Over time, internal disagreements and misaligned visions made running that location healthily and constructively difficult. And sometimes, when the foundation starts to crack – you need to make the brave decision to stop before something breaks entirely.
That’s why I chose to close the Gänsemarkt location as of May 1st, 2025. It was not a financial failure, it was a structural one – and a conscious step to protect the future of råbowls.

Just a few minutes from Gänsemarkt, this space marks a fresh start. A place to focus on what really matters: food that fuels, ingredients you trust, and moments of calm in the middle of the day.
But what about the articles about insolvency?
Yes – it’s true that one of the operating companies behind our Gänsemarkt store filed for insolvency. And yes, some media outlets picked it up.
What those articles don’t make clear is this: råbowls as a brand is still here. The store at Gänsemarkt is closed, but råbowls lives on – in a new space, with a stronger foundation.
Unfortunately, headlines like “råbowls insolvent” show up high on Google, leading many people to assume the entire concept is gone. This blog post is here to clarify that we are not gone. We’ve moved on.
What comes next?
The spirit of råbowls was never about one location. It was always about offering something better – fresh, colorful, plant-powered bowls for people who want to eat well and feel good. That mission hasn’t changed.
With this new chapter, we’re building on what worked, learning from what didn’t, and moving forward with more focus and more intention.
